A flint blade. A tertiary flake of mid grey-flint with a low-gloss patina. There is a small striking platform at the proximal end. On the ventral face is a well-defined bulb of percussion and several waves. On the dorsal face are several elongate, parallel flaking scars creating a trapeziodal cross section. There is edge-gloss along part of one long edge on the ventral face, probably from use of the blade. Date: Neolithic to Early Bronze Age Dimensions: 52 mm x 23 mm x 7 mm Weight: 10 g

Single piece brooch. Very narrow bow. The bow is leaf shaped, tapering to a pointed foot. Small catchplate remains. The bow is decorated with an incised central line with diagonal lines either side at the top end of the bow. The spring is of round sectioned wire, two coils remaining on the left side and broken off at the end of the chord.

A copper alloy zoomorphic strap-end. It is drop-shaped in outline, with the end strap attachment narrower than the opposite end. The rounded end is broad and flat, tapering to attachment end which is in the form of an animal head with rivets for nostrils. Behind this are incised eyes and ears and possibly wings. At the broad end are incised concentric circles. The back is undecorated. Date: Early Medieval - c. 800 - 1000

A copper alloy strap end of Thomas Class B, Type 13. The strap end is of tapering form with a wide, flared, split attachment end. The rear plates of the split end are broken at one corner. It is likely that there was a hole in each corner of the attachment end, but only one remains and retains a separate rivet. There is also a central, circular hole, probably for attachment purposes, suggesting the strap end may have been repaired at sometime. At the base of the split plate on the front of the object is a transverse ridge below which extends the solid, tapering part of the strap end…

2 refitting fragments of a middle bronze age ribbed bracelet. Five ribs, more or less evenly spaced. The outer two ribs form an everted flange around either edge. The central rib has an angular crest and is higher than the two flanking it. These two also have angular crests and are decorated with transverse incised notches. The back/inside of the bracelet is fairly flat but there are traces of the ribs.

On the front it is decorated at each of the corners - the frame is thickened and on two diagonally opposite corners are two circular recesses (for enamel or stones), at the others are small moulded zoomorphic heads. Copper alloy strap end. Originally cast with an integral plates, but one appears to have broken. It was attached to the strap with a single proximal rivet. Rectangular split plate with a decorative, flat bar projecting from it. Halfway along the bar are two rectangular projections. At the halfway point between these and the end are two smaller rectangular projections above two backward curving projections - together these form sub-circular holes. Copper and lead alloy probable purse bar. Broadly rectangular centre boss with curvilinear edges. There is a circular hole through narrowest axis (running left to right on the attached image). The front of boss is decorated with ring and dot stamping in a curvilinear, interwoven design forming a sexfoil . There are traces of gilding in the stamping. Copper alloy hooked tag with niello inlay decoration. Isosceles triangular tag with two attachment holes at the top. At the bottom (i.e. the apex of the triangle)is a thickened stub of a hook. Copper alloy oval lipped frame with attached sheet metal plate. The bar of the frame is offset and narrowed. The plate is of sheet copper alloy folded over the bar to form a front and back plate. The plates are of tapering rectilinear shape, notched for the frame. It has a rectangular notch for the pin. There are four rivet holes (two at each end. The front plate is decorated with a repousse zoomorphic design - four legs and a raised head and tail - on a field of dots. There are traces of gilt on the plate.

Probable book or casket mount. An incomplete openwork rectangular plate with zoomorphic design. On three sides is a framing band with a rounded lobe halfway along the longest side. This has an attachment hole containing the remains of an iron fixing. Inside the frame is an openwork design of two beasts with three-clawed feet and long tails. They are arranged in reflection of each other, each one raising a front paw and with its tail raised over its back. They both have a projection from their backs joining their tails, possibly representing wings? However, one has its head facing forw…
