A cast copper alloy fragment. What remains of this is triangular in shape with a wide ridge running centrally along it's length from the apex. The ridge then splits to form a semicircular ridge around an aperture the same shape. This would have been circular originally but the object is now broken at this point. This object is of uncertain date and function. It is possibly prehistoric, but is not of a recognisable object type. It's dimensions are 35.91mm x 33.13mm x 7.40mm, weight 18.51g

A folded fragment of sheet gold strip with a narrower strip threaded through and wrapped. Maximum length 13mm; width of wider strip 6mm; thickness 3mm as folded; width of narrow strip 2.5mm; weight 1.43 grams. Non-destructive X-ray fluorescence analysis of the surface indicated a gold content for both of 86-89%, a silver content of 8-10% and at least 1% copper. Though the analysis does not rule out an ancient date, the piece is an undiagnostic fragment which cannot be assigned to a cultural or chronological context. Due to the undiagnostic nature of the find it can not be securely date…

Silver ring, possibly a finger ring. The band is wide, undecorated and has an inward facing D-shaped cross section. The fact that the ring has a convex internal surface suggests that it may not be a finger ring. Undiagnostic Description: silver band, probably a fitting, with undecorated surface. The interior of the fitting is convex, indicating that this is indeed a fitting rather than a finger-ring. Discussion: There are no diagnostic features to the fitting, therefore it is not possible to conclusively date the fitting.

A cast lead weight of uncertain date. The weight is circular in plan. It is decorated unifacially; the lower face is marked and worn but seemingly only as a result of old damage. The upper face features a design rendered in relief. It may represent a figure advancing right with a staff, or, the other way up, perhaps the Roman numerals 'III' or the letter 'IN', below which a pair of 'C' shapes and a transverse line. At 47.7g it is equivalent to around one-and-a-half troy ounces, or around one-and-two-thirds ounces avoirdupois. Biggs and Withers (2000, 24-26) features two round flat wei…

A perforated lead-alloy weight of uncertain (suggested Roman to medieval) date. The freestanding weight is of truncated-conical form and has a vertical aperture at its centre. This aperture is of circular cross section and tapers from the bottom to the top(c.8.2 mm to c.1.5 mm). The weight has a matt chalky white patina. Dimensions are: Diameter at base 24 mm, Diameter at the top c.10 mm, Height 19 mm, Weight 48 grams. The dating of lead weights are problematic when found out of context, so a broad date range is given here.
