An incomplete copper alloy hooked fitting. Possibly a dress fastener or a buckle pin. A thick bar of copper alloy with a D-shaped cross-section for much of its length, thinning into a rectangular cross section towards the hooked end. Th hooked end is tapered and bent at a right angle before curling back on itself. At the other end is also tapered and ends in a break. On one face of the bar in the centre are traces of stamped decoration of an annulet with four annulets set around it forming a rectangle. A copper-alloy mount in the form of a lion couchant modelled in relief on the front face but flat on the rear face. The front face has a slightly melted appearance as though a blob of metal has been dropped on it, with consquent loss of some decorative detail. The front paws are placed together beneath the mouth and there is no other creature pinned down beneath them, as is normal in leonine knife handles and figurines (e.g. BH-2159D4 and SWYOR-F1D5D6). The find has an incised pattern, on both sides, of four stylised unlinked drop shapes, two straight lines of different lengths, extending across the diameter, and two small double annulets. The drop shapes face outwards in a slightly haphazard manner, the points close to the edge. A small section of the circumference may be missing to an old break. The pin has a flat circular head, on which little decoration remains aside from a faint beaded border inset slightly from the edge on one face. Striations are present on both faces. A complete copper alloy bead of uncertain date, probably Bronze Age to Roman c.AD 43 - 410. The bead is sub-biconical with a central perforation through the centre. A series of striations are present around the perimeter, close to the apex. Similar beads on the database include ESS-975247, SUR-131CBB, ASHM-377F8C, LEIC-3641F5, SOM-DA2D9C although these have a slightly more pronounced conical shape than this example. An unidentified object of uncertain date. The object is incomplete and made of copper alloy. It has a break at its narrower end. It is D shaped in cross-section and slightly tapering in plan view. At the broader end, which is rounded, it is decorated with a narrow groove, On the reverse flat side there is an integral sturdy loop (15 x 5mm) with very small (2.3mm) hole through its centre.
