A complete Late Iron Age to Roman cast copper alloy mount depicting a facing anthropomorphic head, dating to c. 50 BC - AD 200. An incomplete Roman copper alloy strip brooch, dating to c. AD 40-50. Mackreth DURO type 5b. The brooch comprises the head, bow, and most of the catchplate. The pin is missing. The remainder of the brooch is formed of a single flat strip which splays out towards the rounded bottom. The strip was originally curved around at the top to form the head and hold the pin, but the head has straightened out slightly now, due to old damage.
