An incomplete copper-alloy strap fitting. The mount is hourglass-shaped and has a rectangular transverse collar at both the shorter ends. The edges are bevelled on front and rear. A complete Post Medieval copper alloy open work cordate (heart shaped) mount, dating to c AD 1550-1700. It is D shaped in section,with two integral oval section spikes still in situ on the underside, both now themselves bent, but also bent in towards the plate. It has a bifurcate, wider basal end, the junction of the two halves of the mount accentuated by a V shape groove. This open area at the base has an internal chamferred edge. The terminal consists of two circular petals flanking an elongated ovate pointed central petal.

An incomplete copper alloy possible mount , perhaps Medieval or Post Medieval, dating to c AD 1500 - 1600. The artefact comprises a tongue-shaped plate with openwork 'plant scrolls' decoration moulded with ten apertures overall. The reverse is flat. There appears to be an early break at the lower (narrow end) end and there may also be a break across the broad end, although the piece looks mainly complete. A post medieval copper alloy mount in the form of a triple rose. The outer edge is shaped into six convex curved petals to form a rose, with knops between each petal, some missing. The moulded decoration on the face of the mount consists of six crescents encircling six pellets around a smaller single central pellet. The reverse is undecorated and has the remnants of five integral attachment spikes.

An incomplete gilded copper alloy sexfoil mount. The mount is domed and gilded on the front. The six foils are delineated by v-shaped grooves and have rounded outer edges with a slight knop in the middle. At the rear are two attachment spikes set on the diameter at either edge behind the tips of two of the foils.

A Post Medieval cast copper alloy decorative mount with a convex vase-shaped plate with opposed scallop-shell shaped terminals which are inscribed with radiating lines. The reverse is concave with two integrally cast hooked fixing rivets. Probably from horse harness and circa 17th century.

An incomplete post medieval mount, dating to c. AD 1500 - 1700. The body of the mount comprises circular and lozenge shaped open work, with a sub circular extension at the apex, pierced for a rivet, still in situ. The lower terminal of the body tapers to a rectangular plate within which is an in-situ iron rivet. An integral hook extends from this plate, facing the rear. The end of the hook is missing.

A Post Medieval copper alloy mount dating to c.1500 -1700. The mount consists of a pointed oval moulded plate with two asymmetrical side knops, one on either side at around the mid way point. The front is decorated with a symmetrical foliate design in relief surrounded by a narrow beaded raised border which follows the shape of the plate. Traces of gilding remain on both faces. The reverse of the mount is flat and has the bent stubs of two integral spikes which are circular in cross-section.

The mount has a shield-shaped or sub- triangular.plate The wider edge is trilobed and the tapered end is decorated with a rounded knop with a smaller knop at the end. The front is decorated in a floriate style. There are two separate rivets set on the longitudinal axis. Both are circular in cross section and incomplete. The rear is undecorated and flat. THere are traces of gilding on the front.

A post-medieval (1600-1800) copper alloy furniture mount in the form of a stag's head with moulded eyes, snout and ears, and antlers projecting from the top of the head. The reverse is concave except behind the lower snout, which is solid. Here is the remains of a circular-sectioned integral shank, 4.5mm in diameter (surviving to a length of c.2mm).
The metal has lost its original patina and is now a purplish-brown in colour. The object measures 43.4mm in length, 35.8mm in max.width, 9.3mm in depth and weighs 11.86g.

Two incomplete post-medieval lead mounts, dating to c. AD 1700 - 1900. The mounts may have been sub-circular, but are now broken. Both have deeply moulded relief decoration in the form of a lion's head surrounded by a mane. The naturalistic facial features comprised of a protruding nose, mouth, eyes and brow ridge. The pupils of the eyes are recessed.. The remains of surrounding mane are decorated with moulded curved lines and a cinquefoil flower at ear height. A complete Post Medieval copper alloy mount with two integral pointed lugs, dating to c AD 1600 - 1700. It is circular in form and sub-conical in profile, hollow, two concentric circles around a central incuse pellet. The two lugs are oval in section, c 7mm in length, arranged on opposite sides of the base.

A complete copper alloy sexfoil headed mount with integral rivet. The stud head is moulded to resemble a flower, with each petal alternately plain or moulded with a further three petals, all of which taper to a point. The rounded lobes or petals are divided from one another by incised radial grooves, and the centre of the stud has a round protrusion. The reverse is flat with a slight dome around the centre, from which protrudes a square sectioned integral rivet, which is curved and tapers to a sharp point. The surface of the stud has a reddish brown and green patina.

Post-Medieval cast copper alloy mount in the form of a flat openwork lozenge. The inner and outer edges are straight but bevelled with a flat front and back. There is a recessed band within which is a line of raised pellets running around all four sides of the frame in the centre of the front. There are traces of gilding on the reverse. There are two integral attachment spikes on the plain back, one near each acute corner. Both are broken and worn with only stubs remaining. The mount is 26.1mm by 17.0mm and 2.9mm thick including the spikes, 2.1mm excluding. It weighs 3.50 grams.

Cast copper alloy belt decoration dating to the Post-Medieval period from the 17th century. This design on the upper face of the mount is of a rosette with a central circular pellet surrounded by five rounded petals alternating with five pointed leaves. The back of the mount has two integral pointed lugs, one of which is complete and 6 mm in length.
Read (2001) illustrates a similar example on page 34, fig.19, no.273 which dates from the 17th century.

An early post-medieval copper alloy mount, probably from harness. At the front is a rectangular, D-sectioned plate with moulded decoration of transverse ridges with grooves between (two at the top, three in the middle and two at the bottom). Two integral attachment spikes project from the reverse, one from the top and one from the bottom, both D-shaped in cross section and bent to form a rectangular loop. Dimensions: 14.71 mm x 18.95 mm x 5.97 mm. Weight: 3.21 g. 16th century.
