A composite weight with lead, iron and gilded copper alloy components. A thin angular piece of lead with a fragment of a heavily gilded copper alloy Insular mount attached to it with a large dome-headed iron rivet. The lead is sub-angular in outline, rectangular in cross section and slightly hollowed at the rear (11.08 mm thickness). The re-used sheet metal mount is incomplete with an outcurved original edge at one side and the others cut square. A probable lead brooch of Weetch type 25.B. A cast sub-circular brooch with a hollow back. The conves front is decorated with concentric grooves, ribs and bands of transverse lines and grooves. There is a projecting "arm" of uncertain function which tapers and is bent back on itself. The decoration contunues for part of the length of this element and the casting line along its whole length.
