A cast bronze (copper alloy) faceted socketed axe of late Bronze Age date (950 – 750 BC). The axe is relatively short and stubby and is known as ‘baggy axe’. The axe is sub-rectangular in plan with concave sides and a flared convex cutting edge, which measures 48.1mm across. An incomplete copper alloy rowel spur dating to the medieval period (c.AD 1300-1400). The object has an overall circular form and consists of a solid centre from which teeth radiate outwards. Ten teeth survive out of sixteen. In the centre is a small perforation to allow for attachment. The object has a smooth dark green patina. Dimensions: Diameter 64.4mm; thickness 3.6mm; weight 23.g Clark (1995: 147) suggests large star rowels were fashionable in the last quarter of the fourteenth century but died out by the start of the fifthteenth.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman finger ring with glass setting dating to c.AD43-300. The bezel is overall circular in plan and has raised sides which hold the remains of light green glass which has been cracked and broken, so that any possible inscription is no longer legible. A small copper alloy crotal bell. It is basically a hollow sphere in shape with a circular suspension loop on the top of it. A line is clearly visible around this loop and through the bell, it has probably been cast in one piece. This is incomplete, the bottom having been opened and the pellet thus lost. The token is decorated with rows of raised pellets, arranged 1, 3 , 5, 3,1. This places it in Powell type 30, which includes groups of pellets.
