Copper alloy Roman trumpet brooch dating c. 75-175AD. The head of the brooch is oval in shape. At the back is a pierced lug with traces of an axis bar that would have held the spring. The bow tapers to the foot which is missing. The bow has three moulded bands at the mid point, but is flat on the back. The catch plate is decorated on the both sides with small V shapes running along the edge of the bow. The pin and the outer edge of the catchplate are missing. The brooch has a dark green patina. The object is formed from a piece of piece of copper alloy sheet that has been folded into a 'box' shape. Cast copper alloy, shield-shaped, heraldic harness pendant of probable 14th-century date (c.1250 - 1450). An integral cast suspension loop located at the centre of the upper edge of the pendant. The loop is set at an angle of 90 degrees to the plane of the pendant. The front face of the pendant has traces of enamel surviving. The field appears to be made up of a chequer pattern (checky in heraldic terms) only the blue enamel survives.
