Silver sixpence of William III (c1694-1702). The coin is very worn but would originally have had the bust of the king on the obverse with the legend GVILELMUS III DEI GRA. Traces of the bust can still be seen. This face has been counter stamped twice one with a small sans serif J and then again with a more cursive J. The reverse has traces of the crowned cruciform shield, none of the legend survives. The coins has been slightly bent and distorted and was almost certainly reused as a love token.
