The coin has been pierced from reverse through to obverse; the position of the hole is in the lower right hand quarter on the obverse. The hole is sub-rectangular and probably punched. The torn metal around the hole is not trimmed.

A complete struck / hammered silver half groat of the Commonwealth period AD 1649 to AD 1660.
The coin has been bent in two directions, forming an S shape. From the obverse, at an angle of 45 degrees from right to left, the lower third is bent backwards, and the upper third is bent forward. Bending coins in such a manner is often associated with 'love tokens' and was common during the later post-medieval period.
The weight is 0.9g and the Diameter is 16.5mm
