Irregular folded lead weight of unknown date (probably Roman – Post Medieval 50-1700 AD). The weight is broadly sub-rectangular in plan and profile. The upper edge has been pierced by a regular pierced hole (diameter: 6.2mm). The lower edge of the weight has been folded back upon itself which has created a much thicker lower edge; this presumably makes the weight hang evenly. An incomplete cast lead weight or steel yard weight. The weight is sub-circular in plan. The top half is conical with the remains of an iron stud projecting from its apex, the bottom half is a shallow dome and there is a prononced lip where the two halves join. It is possible that the weight was suspended by this iron stud which is incomplete. The weight is a white to cream colour with a relatively even, but slightly corroded and abraded, patina that covers all surfaces. A cast lead weight of Roman to Post Medieval date (1 - 1650 AD), most probably Roman (AD50-350). The weight is broadly circular in plan and D shaped in cross section; it has been heavily eroded in the soil. The central hole is a an irregular oval shape and has been cast / set off centre; it has an internal diameter of 8.1mm. Both faces are plain and undecorated. A Roman or later copper alloy acorn-shaped object, possibly a slide weight from a steelyard or statera. The shell of the acorn is raised. The top has a flattened projection in which is an offset hole or suspension loop. Inside the hole remains a piece of copper alloy wire measuring 2.5mm in diameter. The bottom has been abraded and is now a slightly flattened both on the perimeter and base. There is a single circular countersunk mark on the perimeter. An incomplete lead-alloy steelyard weight of Roman date, c.AD 43 - 410. The weight is bi-conical in form and circular in cross section and has a slightly faceted rough surface. It has no obvious signs of suspension, as one end has broken away, possibly containing the suspension loop. The weight is showing signs of cracking and delamination, particularly around the area that has sheared away. A rim fragment of a wheelmade ceramic vessel. The rim is slightly bulbous and ‘n’ shaped in profile. The core and interior is a light grey and the exterior is a mottled grey/brown colour. The fabric has frequent, hard, angular, grey geological inclusions of varied size. The sherd weighs 14.48g. The fabric is probably Malvernian Ware dating to the 2nd to 4th centuries. Small body sherd from a Severn Valley pottery vessel, not enough survives to indicate the form, probably dating from the Roman period (100-400 AD). The sherd is irregular in plan and profile. It is highly abraded and relatively thin. The fabric is a very soft earthenware with a powdery surface. The fabric has a number of small angular and sub-angular grit, iron stone and grog (pottery temper) inclusions. The fabric also has a large amount of mica within its make up.
