An incomplete Early Medieval cast copper alloy ball-headed pin head, 8th-9th century. Solid sub-spherical head decorated with five spherical bosses. one at the top and four equally-spaced around the middle. The majority of the pin is missing,with just a short stump of 2.56mm remaining Mid brown-green patina. Length 20.67mm, diameter of head (without bosses) 10.71mm, maximum width of head (including bosses) 19.29mm, weight 6.77g. An incomplete cast copper alloy strap distributor / link for a horse harness fitting of later Early Medieval date. The fitting has a flat back and rounded front, it had two loops for straps, connected via a rectangular bar to either side of a barrel shaped central boss. There is a thin groove either side of the boss. The object is missing most of both loops due to ancient breaks. The central boss has a hollowed rear, and the side bars a central groove. The fitting had a green patina over the brown metal. The remains are 44mm long, 12mm wide and 10mm deep, it weighs 14.4g

The shape of the object is best described as half an oblate spheroid, and is semi-circular in plan. The object is hollow, consisting of a copper alloy shell with walls of consistent thickness (c. 1.7mm) the hollow interior measures 17mm by 41.8mm at its base.
