A fragment of a cast copper alloy branched double socket candlestick. Only a fragment of the candlestick branch remains. The branch, in plan is a wide ‘V’ shape, and the branch is a pointed oval with rounded edges in section. The width of one branch expands slightly in width, whereas the other branch tapers slightly in width. The surface of the branch has a mottled mid green/grey patina. A probable cast copper alloy cooking vessel foot. In plan it is a sub-rectangle with an asymmetrical rounded foot. In profile the reverse of the leg is straight whereas the front face is slightly domed and undulating. In section the leg is an elongated semi-circle. The upper edge of the leg is broken, this may not be a recent break. The surface has traces of a heavy grey/green patina, but the surface has possibly been over cleaned. An incomplete cast copper alloy Post Medieval dress hook or fastening. The body of the dress hook is sub-oval in plan with stamped decoration on the upper surface. The decoration consists of a border of annulets with crescents and blocks of fine ribbing within. The upper tip of the body has an incomplete circular perforation. A rim fragment of a wheelmade ceramic vessel. The rim is slightly bulbous and ‘n’ shaped in profile. The core and interior is a light grey and the exterior is a mottled grey/brown colour. The fabric has frequent, hard, angular, grey geological inclusions of varied size. The sherd weighs 14.48g. The fabric is probably Malvernian Ware dating to the 2nd to 4th centuries. A handle fragment of a ceramic vessel, possibly a jug. The handle is rectangular in plan, with both terminals being broken and it is curved in profile. The fabric is orange throughout and has frequent small white quartz inclusions. It is slightly micaceous. The exterior surface has traces of a red slip with traces of a mottled green/yellow glaze. Three fragments of possible ceramic building material. All three fragments are relatively robust and may possibly come from some form of vessel, however from the shapes of the pieces it is more likely that they are fired remnants of wattle and daub walls (being the daub part). The reasons for this are the organic burnt out inclusions and also the series of very shallow U shaped sectioned hollows; these may correspond with the wattle hurdles in a wall. A cast copper alloy leg or foot from a copper alloy vessel probably a cauldron or skillet of later medieval date (1300 - 1500). The leg is sub-rectangular in plan and cross section. It tapers slightly from the top to the base. The top of the foot is uneven and would have been soldered to the body of the vessel. Incomplete silver penny of Edward I, Mint London, Class 2b January - May 1280. The penny has been reused to form a brooch with a small silver loop being soldered to the obverse face. It has been applied in such a way that the cross on the reverse is vertical. It is possible that the front face has also been gilt (although this may be a result of the burial conditions). The lower part of thE coin has been lost - probably as a result of movement in the soil.

Much clipped contemporary copy (possibly from a continental source) of a silver short cross penny of King John, Class Va. The reasons that this may be a forgery is the very large and atypical coarse portrait on the obverse and the combination of moneyer and mint on the reverse. There is not a moneyer whose initials start WA[...]E at the mint at Exeter ([E]X on reverse of coin). It is therefore suggested that this coin is a contemporary forgery and formed from elements taken from several coins of the period.
