Groat of Edward IV, Light Coinage 1464-1470, either North 1570-71 Class VII-VIII Initial Mark Crown / Sun, or North 1575 Class IX, Initial Mark Crown / Rose. There are a number of issues with this coin, in that the metal it is made from is not standard silver, instead it seems to be an amalgam or white metal alloy. This would indicate either it being a contemporary copy (which would explain the clipping around the edge) or a modern forgery or copy, probably produced on a relatively small scale for sale in museums and for modern collectors). A heavily worn silver short cross cut - half penny of Plantagent date / Henry II - Henry III (1180-1247), struck at the mint of London. The coin has been bent into two and straigtened. The exterior / obverse face is heavily worn; this wear has removed all surface detail. The reverse face is relatively well preserved. A large crack, along the folding, is present an dthe coin is relatively unstable.
