A complete silver penny of Elizabeth I dating from 1587 - 1589. Mint mark is a cresent. The coin is unclipped and worn. There is a crack around the inner band of the legend. The obverse portait is weakly struck and/or worn, with just the silouette of the queen and her crown remaining. The obverse legend is complete and clear E. D. G. The coin is most probably from Group D (1632-1640) with the initial mark being two pellets.
