The coin is unclipped and worn. There is a crack around the inner band of the legend.

A complete silver penny of Charles I (1625-1649). The penny has been heavily clipped. On the obverse is the King's bust, on the reverse a shield, both without inner circles. The coin is most probably from Group D (1632-1640) with the initial mark being two pellets.
Note error in reverse inscription reading TRHONVM rather than THRONVM
