Open-work type intact and cast in one piece, with a rectangular loop and irregular square plate on which, when viewed holding front faxing with the hooked end downward, has the two lower corners cut off. The plate is decorated with three open-work trefoils with two lys above and transverse rope borders, below which is open-work foliage running on to the top of the hook shank which is a slightly pointed half circle in section.

The seal is sub-circular in plan with lettering on both flat faces. On the edge of the seal is a sub-rectangular indention, which probably originally ran through the seal to the opposite edge. The lettering on one face reads ' N P / B12[ ] / 1755'. The other face reads 'N 02[ ]'. The item has been recently damaged on the edges. The item has a developed beige coloured patina.

The border is plain and is formed by red enamel. The field is patterned 'checky' which consists of blue enamel and gilt. There are only traces of gilt remaining, however, the majority of the blue and red enamel remains. Each corner of the shield shaped mount has a circular rivet hole. The reverse of the mount has traces of a dark green patina, however the majority of the surface is a dark brown colour. The mount is slightly curved, ')' with the apex on the mount being the decorated face.

Cast copper alloy rowel spur. The neck of the spur is oval in cross-section and starts horizontally straight but tapers towards its downwardly bent rowel box. The rowel box is damaged and the rowel is missing but ferrous corrosion visible in the rowel box suggests that the rowel pin was iron. The horizontally straight sides, of flattened D-section, taper from the neck of the spur towards the terminals which are both formed by two rings set like a figure-of-eight equally above and below the front of the spur side.
