Denarius of unknown emperor of Roman date (27 BC - 240 AD). The coin is in a poor condition having been abraded in the ploughsoil. This has resulted in the loss of the edges of the coin. The coin is suffering from a laminating corrosion, however this lamination has revealed that the coin may possibly be plated, although the core of the coin seems to be silver rather than the usual copper alloy of contemporary copies.
