A complete finger ring dating to the Modern peirod (c. AD 1878-1900). The hoop is D-shaped in corss-section with a plain outer band and ITALIA UMBERTO I in raised lettering on the inner band with a border above consising of short vertical lines repeating. The object has a mid-green patina and the edges are slightly chipped. The finger ring appears to be dedicated to Umberto I, King of Italy from AD 1878 until his assassination in July 1900.  Overall dimensions: 22.30mm in diameter, 1.74mm in thickness and 3.17g in weight.

Lead bag seal. Cast disc with a pair of holes in opposite edges, to function as a drawstring bag closure. One side bears a stamped trade mark comprising crowned cabled rim and plain inner circle with a billeted bar across it with vegetal garniture, and the legend: GOOD SEEDS / CARRIAGE FREE / REGISTERED, with the larger legend: TRADE M[ARK RE]G[ISTERED] outside it. The opposite side is stamped centrally: SUTTON AND SONS, with an outer legend: SEEDSM[EN BY APPOINTMENT ENG]LAND. Founded in 1806, the firm was warranted by Queen Victoria in 1858. Suggested date: Modern, 1858 - c1900.

An incomplete, copper alloy Ottoman coin of Modern date from the reign of Mahmud II and dates to his 26th regnal year (c. AD 1832-1833). There is a circular perforation at 1 o'clock on the obverse with a diameter of 1.61mm, which would suggest that this was potentially worn as a pendant or medallion - see SWYOR-899DF4 and DUR-B76A8F for coins from the reign of Mahmud II that have been reused as pendants. The obverse features an eagle on top of a swastika, legend around reading 'Deutsches Reich 1939', translating to German Reich 1939, beaded border around circumference. The reverse features the denomination 'Reichspfennig 50', Mintmark 'A' in exergue between two leaves, minted in Berlin. The coin has a silver patina and has some signs of a dark orangy corrosion. A brass mechanised and orignally sprung powder measure. This machined composite brass element fixed via a screw thread (now lost) to the mouth of a leather powder horn / flask. By depressing the sprung lever a series of shaped slides move allowing a single measure of black powder to be dispensed into the muzzle of a either a musket or rifle. The form of this measure is unusual and is likely to date from the period 1780-1860, being used as an alternative to paper cartridges. At the centre is a 1D (1 penny) value mark with the inscription arranged in a circle above and below: Above CADBURY'S Below DINING ROOM. around the edge of the token is a border of pellets. The reverse is plain and undecorated. The token is a mid green colour with a corroded patina. It is likely that the token dates to the period 1900-1960. An irregular fragment from the suspension loop of a drop handle dated to the late 17th or early 18th century date (1650-1800). The fragment is broken across its lower edge. It is irregular in plan being broadly rectangular with small rounded knops projecting from each corner. There is no decoration present and the metal is a mid reddish brown copper rich colour. Similar complete drop handles can be seen on the PAS database - a good example can be seen from Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire (DENO-2817C7). The fragment measures 14.9mm width, 13.8mm height, is 2.8mm thick and weighs 1.81 grams

A copper alloy ring formed from a length of square sectioned wire twisted and knotted to form a hoop. The ends are folded back upon themselves and are rounded. The form is very neat and well defined not being distorted in the soil. The metal is a mid brown green colour with red coloured corrosion present. The reverse is struck with a Birmingham assay mark (anchor) a stamp bearing the gold value .325 and the makers mark AEJ within a rectangular cartouche. A cast and pressed silver 'coin' brooch date 1836 based on a half-crown design. The brooch comprises a solid silver frame with eight rectangular raised panels on the front face and small circular knops on the edge. Within the frame is a machine pressed silver disc depicting the draped royal arms surmounted by a crown with ANNO 1836 beneath. A small rectangular gun flint probably from a small handgun / firearm / pocket pistol of post medieval - modern date (1700-1850 AD). The flint is sub-square in plan and trapezoidal in profile and section. The flint is a light mottled grey colour. The dorsal face has been knapped / worked on all four sides; this work consists of creating sloping edges to give it a trapezoidal side view. Cast copper alloy fitting from a firearm (longarm) probably a rifle or musket of probable post medieval or modern date (1650-1850). The fitting is from the underside of the gun barrel and would have held the ram-rod in place. It is irregular in plan and profile and is formed from a cast hollow cylinder. At one end of this cylinder is an integral cast length of metal with a shallow D shaped cross section. This length of metal tapers along its length and has been bent to form a U shaped hook. There is a large stress fracture along the edge of this hook where it meets with the cylinder. …
