Small copper alloy Strap Fitting or belt mount from the later medieval or post medieval period 1400 - 1650. The mount is reddish brown in colour with some green corrosion. Shape is a long wedge, with an animal like head at it ts terminal. The head protrudes from the end of the wedge and is slightly thicker than the rest of the mount. In cross section the mount is flat underneath and slightly oval on top, being thickest along the central axis. At the rear a short rectangular strip extends from the base of the wedge shape. A complete cast, copper alloy object, of unknown date, probably a buckle / strap / belt fitting. The artefact is broadly triangular in plan and profile.The lower edge extends to form a broken and distorted D shaped ring / hoop. The upper part of the fitting gas a broad but thin longitudinal slot that extends about half the length of the object.It was possibly usd as a sliding belt fitting, with the belt passing through the slot, and the end piercing being used to suspend something. An incomplete fragment of a cast copper alloy strap slide / strap fitting / strap mount of early Roman date (AD50-150). The fragment is broken across the mid point and only one part survives; the break is old and patinated. The fragment is broadly rectangular in plan and also similarly rectangular in cross section. From the terminal end on the rear face a U shaped loop extends; it is integrally cast and set at 90 degrees to the plain of the object. An incomplete copper-alloy hooked mount of post-medieval date (c. 16th century). The plate of the hook is flat backed and sub-rectangular. The attachment end is slightly rounded, and the plate then expands slightly along its length, until before the hook there is a cusped collar with a semicircular removal on each side, above which a smaller removal. A corroded cast copper alloy buckle plate / buckle chape of probably post medieval date (1600-1750). The plate is broadly rectangular with a forked end is curled round to clasp the separate bar that contains the incomplete remnants of iron pivot pin. The opposite end tapers to form a V shaped wedge. The object has a pair of rivet holes used to fix the plate to a strap. The rivets are lost. No decoration is present, this may be due to the advanced state of corrosion. An incomplete strap fitting of Medieval date. The fitting is of the bar strap type, being sub oval in plan, consisting of a domed oval body with hollowed back. At each end of the oval is a rounded solid lobe, one being larger than the other. There is the stump of a projecting circular pin behind each lobe, with the pin fitting through a piercing in the lobe. The fitting is decorated with four unequal horizontal bands that run across the full width of the dome about its centre. The fitting has a dark green patina with lighter corrsion. A fragment of a cast, copper-alloy, belt slider of Medieval to Post Medieval date (c1200-c1600). The fragments consists of most of the central bar and part of one side, with a short length of of one of the outer ends. The original slider would have been double looped and rectangular with rounded corners in shape. The central bar and end are round in cross-section, and the wider side oval. The frgament has a green patina. Surviving length 22mm, surviving width 22mm, weight 6.1g. Diameter of central bar 3.2mm.

A complete, cast, copper alloy, Medieval strap mount. The mount is a hollow backed dome with an off-centre peircing for a missing separate rivet. The mount is crudely decorated with six unevenly spaced linear groves that radiate from the apex of the dome to the perimeter. The mount has a green patina, with the underlying red-brown metal showing in areas of abrasion. Weight 0.75g, Diameter 16.1mm, Thickness 0.5mm.
