An incomplete copper alloy buckle of post-medieval date. The buckle is a sub-rectangular knee buckle with a drilled frame to house a separate spindle. The spindle no longer remains.
The metal has a mid-grey/brown patina and is worn. The buckle is 17.3mm long, 16.7mm wide, 3.4mm thick and weighs 1.2g.
A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead p.111, no.712 and is dated to circa AD 1720 - 1790.

Well preserved copper alloy socketed side-looped spearhead dating from the early Middle Bronze Age, c. 1600-1400BC. The head of the spear is leaf-shaped with a pronounced midrib. There are two side loops, which are flattened, are situated roughly halfway along the shaft. The spearhead has a dark chocolate-brown patina and shows some signs of wear.

A tiny flint artefact, probably a microlith. The tool may have been formed from a snapped bladelet using the microburin technique. It is likely that this flint would have been one part of a composite tool or weapon which utilised many other small flints, quite possibly an arrow. The flint is grey to white in colour. A prehistoric stone axe of probable early Neolithic date. The axe has been made from a fine grained igneous rock, dark grey in colour with fine white inclusions. The axe has been manufactured by chipping and grinding. The chipping is predominantly associated with the lateral edges and the butt of the axe. A flint flake, apparently retouched to form a scraper. Cortex remains on one face. There appears to be a small amount of pressure flaking at the distal end to form a scraping edge. The flint measures 46.23 mm long, 24.14 mm wide, 17.17 mm thick and weighs 13.9 grams. The flint is a cream to grey/brown colour with a small area of pink cortex remaining. Other Mesolithic material from the area suggests this flint may also of this date.

A flint scraper or knife, probably Mesolithic in date. Cortex has been left on part of the flake, probably to facilitate comfortable handling of the tool. The flint is 'boomerang' shaped, and there is some retouch along the inwardly curving edge. The tool was probably intended to be held with the thumb held over the concaved ventral face allowing the tool to be used comfortably as a scraper or knife. The flint is a pale cream in colour, with grey patches and some pink/grey cortex. It measures 38.48 mm long, 19.76 mm wide, 9.62 mm thick and weighs 3.8 grams.

A Mesolithic flint bladelet. It appears to have been broken in prehistory, as there is a break with a patina which matches that visible on the exterior of the rest of the flint. It is possible that this break was deliberate as part of the manufacture of a microlith using the microburin technique, though this is far from certain. The remains of the bladelet measure 26.01 mm long, 10.97 mm wide, 5.43 mm thick and weighs 1.3 grams. It is triangular in section and grey in colour with cream patches.

A Mesolithic flint blade. It has been retouched with a notch towards the butt end of the left lateral edge (when held with the dorsal side facing) and also at the distal end. Both areas of retouch were perhaps designed to perform scraping functions. The blade measures 38.77 mm long, 12.51 mm wide, 3.92 mm thick and weighs 1.8 grams. The ventral face is slightly concaved and the blade is trapezoidal in section. the flint has a pale grey to brown patina, revealing a dark grey where it has been retouched.

A probable Mesolithic microdenticulate on a flake. The flake is sub triangular in shape and has a series of tiny notches removed from one lateral edge, forming a saw-like edge. Much of the dorsal face of the flake is cortical. The tool would probably have been used in a sawing motion to cut through tough animal or vegetable products. It is lozenge form in section. There are several areas where flakes have been removed from the piece, but they do not appear to have been removed in a very regular fashion. This piece may be the very last attempt at extracting usable flint flakes from the core, perhaps explaining the unusual angles from which flakes have been struck.
