The border is plain and is formed by red enamel. The field is patterned 'checky' which consists of blue enamel and gilt. There are only traces of gilt remaining, however, the majority of the blue and red enamel remains. Each corner of the shield shaped mount has a circular rivet hole. The reverse of the mount has traces of a dark green patina, however the majority of the surface is a dark brown colour. The mount is slightly curved, ')' with the apex on the mount being the decorated face.

An incomplete copper alloy single-loop clasp fastener with an integral forked spacer dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1350-1450). The forked spacer only has one arm remaining. The buckle plate not longer adheres. The frame of the buckle is sub-oval in plan with a recessed bar. A sub circular flattened copper alloy vessel mend or flattened rolled rivet, probably of Late Medieval to Post Medieval dating (c.1350 to 1600 AD). The vessel mend consists of a coiled copper alloy that has been flattened by use of a hammer, probably around a rivet. The vessel mend measures 11.19mm in diameter, and 2.35mm thick. It weighs 1.1 grams.

A cast copper alloy single looped D shaped buckle with a separate rectangular strap plate of medieval date (c.1350 to 1450 AD). The buckle frame is broadly D shaped in plan, with a broad D shape cross section. At the centre of the frame, a single angular pointed projection with a U shaped notch as pin rest is present. The strap bar is off set. Folded around the strap bar is a buckle plate formed from sheet metal. A fragment of a cast copper alloy D shaped buckle frame, probably dating to the late Medieval period (Late 13th to Early 14th Centuries). Approximately 25% of the buckle frame is present and consists of the upper half of the external edge of the frame. It is broadly D shaped in cross section. There appears to be an U shaped slot present, presumably the pin rest. The external edge is angled, with traces of gilding visible. The buckle frame fragment measures 22.35mm in length, 17.84mm in width, and 3.50mm thick. It weighs 1.9 grams. A buckle frame of a similar style …
