A worn copper-alloy Roman sestertius, probably of Marcus Aurelius (AD 161-180 AD) dating to the period c. AD 171-173. Illegible reverse legend, with reverse type depicting Roma seated left on cuirass holding transverse spear in raised right hand, resting left elbow on round shield, S-C in the field. Mint of Rome. BMC IV, cf. nos. 1420 and 1440; RIC III pp. 295 and 298, cf. nos. 1037 and 1066.
