A small irregular lozenge / rhomboid shaped stone with hollowed oval shaped depression of uncertain date and function. The stone is a very coarse sandstone which has weathered to a smooth mid prupleish brown colour. The exterior surfaces are all flat - the upper edge has an oval shaped dished hole cut into its surface - the exact function of which is unknown. The hole measures - 26.5mm length, 21.4mm width and is 10.7mm deep. The edges of the hole are smooth and there is no evidence of faceting or drilling. A complete, cast lead pot mend / vessel repair of Roman to Post Medieval date. This mend was for a vessel wall of approximately 3mm thickness. On one side the mend is broadly round in plan, on the other, larger side, it is broadly rectangular in plan. It is H shaped in cross section and has a developed white coloured surface patina. An incomplete, iron axehead of unknown date, probably Early Medieval to Modern (c. AD 900-1900). The axehead starts at 96.77mm high near the blade, tapering to 53.98mm high near the back whilst also expanding from 6.01mm wide to 18.78mm wide towards the back of the head. At this point, it suddenly curves towards a triangular section that starts at 7.34mm wide and tapers to 3.51mm wide near the end. Incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester derivative (Polden Hill style) brooch of Roman date (43-150AD). The wings are semi-cylindrical with perforated wing / end caps. The wing caps are incomplete and the axis bar, spring and pin are missing. It is likely that the pin / spring would have been attached by an external chord to a (now broken) rearward facing hook. The remnant of this hook is located at the centre of the wings on the upper edge. The reverse of the head of the brooch (between the two wings) has a oval shaped recess.
