Cast lead or lead alloy weight of probable Medieval date (1200-1500 AD). The weight is broadly circular in plan and regular in cross section. The upper face is relatively flat and has a single irregular pierced hole through the centre. The corroded remnants of an iron wire are present; this wire would have aided the use and also secured it for safekeeping / storage. The weight is a mid grey colour with an even, but slightly corroded and abraded, patina which covers all surfaces. The weight has been marked by movement in the ploughsoil.
