A cast lead alloy uniface token of Post-Medieval date. The object is sub-circular in plan and has been bent in the centre due to damage. The upper face is decorated with a moulded cross with a central pellet. In each angle of the cross two further moulded lines run off each arm of the cross. The object has a dark grey patina and has been crudely made.
Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as use as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely. Those carrying initials are…
