Glass gaming counter of probable Roman date (50-400 AD). The counter is circular in plan and D shaped in cross section. The edges of the counter are faceted and the reverse face is flat. It measures 20.1mm diameter and is 5.6mm thick; it weighs 3.17 grams. The overall colour of the counter is a dark opaque blue; however the upper face has two turquoise irregular spots and a much smaller yellow one. These spots are caused by inclusions in the glass and maybe deliberate or caused by happenstance. A direct parallel has not been found but due to other material recorded from this site a…

Lead die probably dating to medieval period. The die is not a perfect cube and is fairly worn, especially on the corners. The six faces of the die have numbers punched into them in arrangements of dots like modern examples. On two opposing faces there is a large circular central perforation, it is unclear as to whether this goes all the way through the die but it would seem likely that this is the case and the hole has filled up after deposition. This larger perforation forms the central dot for the number five face of the die but forms an addition in the centre of the opposing sid…
