Medieval or early Post Medieval (14th to 18th century) curtain fitting or suspension loop: A copper alloy sub-oval copper alloy ring with a bi-trapezoidal section. There are file marks on the surface. The surface of the loop has patches of a mid grey-green patina but is abraded. It measures 27.77mm diameter and 3.44mm thick. It weighs 5.41g. Similar rings are illustrated in Margeson (1993) Nos. 522-524, and she describes them as being suspension rings which were probably multi-functional, including curtain rings. A complete copper alloy ring or loop which functioned as a curtain fitting, of Post Medieval dating (15th to 17th Centuries AD). It is sub-circular in shape with a rectangular cross section with bevelled edges. In profile the loop is flat. It measures 26.4 mm external diameter, 18.5 mm internal diameter and 3.4 mm thick. The ring is 3.8 mm wide. It weighs 4.6 grams. The curtain fitting is a dark green colour, with an even surface patina. Similar rings are illustrated in Margeson (1993, p. 82, Fig 47, #522-524).
