Roman copper alloy bow brooch of Wroxeter type and 75-200 AD. The brooch is incomplete, missing the spring and catch-plate (with a length of 59.4mm, a surviving depth of 19.2mm and a weight of 14.8g). Two coils of the spring survive abutting one of the side terminals behind the semi-tubular wings (with a width of 23.4mm). The terminals are expanded (with a diameter of 7.9mm). An incomplete copper alloy Colchester derivative, Polden Hill style brooch of Roman dating AD 75-175. The bow is angular and hump back, resembling a comma, with a moulded plate rising from the wings on each side, to mark the sides of the head and bow. Copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill type. This has rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings that would have held the pin axis bar. A rearwards facing loop at the top of the head would have held the external cord of the spring.
