The object is a probable bridle fitting of Strap Union Link type dating to the Roman period. Both Jackson (Jackson, R. 1990. Camerton: The Late Iron Age and Early Roman Metalwork. British Museum Publications Ltd: London, p.35-36. Plate 6, No. 64) and Frere (Frere, S. 1972. Verulamium Excavations, Vol. 1.
