A medieval silver annular brooch. The frame is formed from silver wire, half of which is round in section, while the other half has been formed into square wire, twisted to give the appearance of cabling, with punched decoration running along the twists. There is a constriction for the pin (now missing), at which point the brooch is broken, probably at the point of the original soldering. The brooch is otherwise in good condition. The brooch dates to the 13th-14th century. This is a well-known type of medieval brooch. See SUSS-7AC4AA; HAMP-999097 and DOR-715865 for similar examples. …
