A large broken fragment of roof tile of possible Roman date (50 – 400 AD). The tile is broadly sub-rectangular in plan with three broken edges, and one original edge. The upper edge of the tile is raised. The tile is similar to that known from Roman roofs and is usually called tegula a flat rectangular tile with one raised edge over which a curved imbrex is placed. The fabric of the sherd is a relatively hard earthenware with a number of small angular and sub-angular grit and white quartz inclusions. There is also a large amount of mica in the fabric. Incomplete fragment of a Roman (100-350 AD) box flue tile. The fragment is broadly sub-rectangular in both plan and profile. In cross section it is irregular being broadly sub-rectangular with two projecting edges (forming an angular n) It measures 61.2mm in length, 42.5mm width and is 30mm deep. The tile is 17.6mm thick and the distance between the two internal projecting ‘walls’ is 71.2mm. The tile weighs 241.08 grams.

Small fragment of a medieval (14th or 15th century) decorated floor tile. The fragment consists of part of one corner of one of the tiles and is broadly triangular in plan and exhibits a regular rectangular cross section. It measures 58.8mm length, 46.3mm width, is 24.9mm thick and weighs 103.53 grams.

Fragment of probable roof tile of medieval or early post-medieval date (1300 - 1600). The fragment is sub-rectangular in both plan and cross section. It measures 58.5mm length, 46.8mm width, is 15.5mm thick and weighs 55.06 grams.
The fabric of the tile is a mid red-orange colour and has a significant number of angular and sub-angular grit and silica inclusions. The upper surface of the fragment is a light orange colour and may have the remains of a very worn glazed surface.

Glazed fragment of a floor tile of medieval date (1250-1450). The fragment is sub-rectangular in both plan and cross section and measures 50.2mm in length, 48.3mm width and is 22.9mm thick. It weighs 54.8 grams.
The fabric of the tile is relatively hard with a number of angular and sub-angular quartz and grit inclusions. The fabric colour is two-tone, the outer a mid orange brown and the inner (core) a mid grey.
