Cast copper alloy button of probable Post Medieval date (1600-1700 AD). The button consists of a circular, probably hollow domed (D sectioned) head, with a separate cast back plate with integral shank set off centre at 90º to the angle of the head. The shank is formed from a length of copper alloy wire. The domed head of the button is undecorated (although heavily dented) as is the reverse face. Rim sherd of an unglazed earthenware pottery vessel dating from the post medieval period (1500-1650). The sherd is most likely to be from a relatively thin walled jar or storage vessel. The fabric of the sherd is a relatively hard earthenware with a number of small angular and sub-angular, quartz, iron stone and oolitic limestone inclusions. Two conjoining abraded glazed sherds of earthenware pottery probably dating to Post Medieval period (1550-1650). The two sherds join along a recent break. The outer surface of each has a decayed glaze which is a brown green colour. The surface of the glaze is slightly pitted which may suggest that it is a basic salt glaze It is likely that the sherd was originally from a domestic pottery type such as a dish, jar or a flagon. The fabric is a hard fired earthen ware with a number of small angular and sub-angular grit, sand and quartz inclusions.
