The fabric is a mid grey - black colour with a number of small frequent rounded and angular grit inclusions. The outer and inner surfaces of the sherd are a mid-dark brown / black colour: the outer surface has also been burnished. There is no glaze present. From the rim of the sherd a diameter for the pot can be estimated, this would be approximately 24cm.
