An incomplete, silver Post Medieval Scottish eighth thistle Merk of James VI Scotland (AD 1567-1625). Eighth coinage dating to AD 1601-1604. It is very worn, especially on the reverse, and parts of the outer flan are missing. Obverse description: Crowned shield with lion rampant. Obverse inscription: IACOBVS . 6 . D . G . R . SCOTO[RVM]. Reverse description: Crowned thistle flanked by two leaves. Reverse inscription: REGEM IO[VA] [PROTEGIT]. Diameter: 17.68mm. Thickness: 0.43mm. Die axis: 4.

A Post Medieval silver plated forgery of a halfcrown of William III (1694-1702), dating to AD 1696-1699 copying an uncertain mint. See Spink (2000: 323-5) nos 3477-3496. Silver plate on copper alloy core. Coin is extremely worn.  Overall dimensions: 31.39mm in diameter, 1.63mm in thickness and 9.35g in weight.

An incomplete possible lead palm guard dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1500-1800). The object is oval in shape and is thicker at one, cut edge then tapers to a narrow, uneven edge on the opposing side. The object has a slight curve on one face, possibly to fit into the palm of the hand. The opposing face is flat. The entire object has a light grey patina and has several deep scratches. Post Medieval (late 16th to early 17th centuries) strap fitting, in the form of a hook. The copper alloy fitting has an inverted triangular body, with rounded edges and a wide 'V' along the upper edge. The body has a circular rivet hole. In the rivet hole there is the traces of an iron rivet. The lower tip of the triangular body is narrowed before forming an integral hook by being curled towards the reverse.
