A copper alloy bridle bit, possibly dating to the late Iron Age to the Roman period (circa 100BC to 200AD). The object consists of two bars placed parallel with a central moulded collar which has been worn and thus less prominent. On each end of the bit, one bar has broken off and the other continues a short distance, curving slightly outwards before also ending in a break. The frame is formed from silver wire, half of which is round in section, while the other half has been formed into square wire, twisted to give the appearance of cabling, with punched decoration running along the twists. An un-diagnostic sherd from the base of a relatively thick walled glazed pottery vessel; not enough survives to indicate the form or overall size. The sherd is most likely to date from the later medieval period (1250 - 1450). It is irregular in plan and curved in profile. The fabric is a relatively hard fired earthenware with a number of small angular and sub-angular grit, and quartz inclusions. The fabric is also mica rich. Rim sherd of an unglazed earthenware pottery vessel probably dating from the medieval period (1050 - 1350). The sherd is most likely to be from a cooking pot or storage jar. The fabric of the sherd is a relatively hard earthenware with a number of small angular and sub-angular grit and quartz inclusions. There is also a large amount of mica in the fabric.
