A silver plated copper core contemporary copy for a radiate of Valerian I, this coin dates to AD 253-260 (period 12) […]VALE[RIANVS AVG], radiate draped bust right / OR[IENS AVGG], radiate Sol walking left, holding whip and raising right hand
The is a hole pierced at about 1 o’clock of the obverse. This appears to have accelerated the corrosion of the cooper resulting in the loss of the silver plating from the centre of the obverse and reverse.
