The buckle is a 'spectacle' buckle that has a frame of two oval loops which form an overall figure of 8. It is D-shaped in section. A pin rest is present at the middle point of one of the loops, but the pin is missing. The frame is undecorated and has a dark green patina. The frame is formed from silver wire, half of which is round in section, while the other half has been formed into square wire, twisted to give the appearance of cabling, with punched decoration running along the twists.
