Cast copper alloy harness pendant of probable 14th-century (c.1250 - c.1450) date. The pendant is irregular in both plan and profile. It is cast in one piece and composed of several elements. The central design is a square shaped raised projection with a cast knop at each corner. From the base of the four sides of the central square are four further projections forming an irregular cross. Each axis of the cross has a T shaped finial / terminal. All of these terminals and knops have been broken or distorted by abrasion and movement in the top soil. Preserved near complete leather purse dating from the Late Medieval or early Post Medieval period, probably c. 1400 – 1650. The purse has been constructed from three pieces of leather: a separate front, back and pocket with an additional leather drawstring tie. The front piece has an attached stitched pocket. The back piece has an integral loop at the top in order to secure the purse to a belt or similar, and is composed of thinner leather than the front and the pocket pieces. Cast copper alloy stirrup strap mount of later early medieval date (950 - 1200 AD). The stirrup strap mount is sub-triangular (irregular pentagon) in plan with a slight convex (domed) front and a concave rear face. The edges of the mount are slightly beveled. At regular intervals along the edge of the mount are small sub-triangular projections or knops. In profile the mount is sub-rectangular (D Shaped) and in cross section the mount is arched (C shaped). Incomplete cast copper alloy strap fitting (strap union or strap end) of Medieval date (1200-1400). The strap fitting is irregular in plan and D shaped in cross section. It consists of a lozenge (diamond) shaped strap junction with a cast sub-oval hole through it (measuring 10.1mm x 7.4mm). This lozenge tapers into a narrow bar with a cast molded collar and then expands into a similar shaped terminal. A fragment from the bow of a copper alloy Roman Trumpet brooch dating from 45 - 200AD. The fragment is sub-oval in plan and D shaped in cross section. It has a series of three cast sub circular (D-shaped) moldings along the length. The central of these is relatively large and projects further than the others. The reverse of the fragment is flat and undecorated. The fragment measures 18.2mm in length, 7.2mm width, and is 5.4mm thick. It weighs 1.95 grams. Cast copper alloy pedestal / pendant seal matrix of medieval date (1250-1400). The die is roughly circular in plan with a diameter of 19.8mm. The reverse rises to a height of 24.8mm terminating in a triangular perforated loop. The body of the matrix is a pedestal formed from seven tapering sides. This terminates in a series of molded bands and the loop. The seal matrix weighs 7.33 grams. The die depicts a hare riding an animal, probably a dog, bareback. Cast lead alloy buckle of medieval date (1300 - 1500). The frame of the buckle is sub-rectangular in plan and oval in cross section. There is no recess for the pin. Attached to the rear of the buckle is an incomplete rectangular folded lead alloy sheet which acts as a belt plate. Through the rear of the plate is a single rivet hole. This would have been used to attach the leather strap to the buckle. There is some iron corrosion around this rivet hole which might suggest that the rivet was made of iron. The pin is missing.
