A worn and heavily clipped silver half-crown of Charles II (1660-1685 AD) 3rd issue, 1660-1662. North 2760-1.North type 2761. The coin has been heavily clipped, removing the inscriptions, as well as pierced by a punch through the centre of the coin.
Obverse: Crowned bust left, worn, with XXX behind. Bust is encircled by pelleted border.
Obverse inscription: [CAROLVS II D G MAG BRIT FRAN ET HIB REX]
Reverse: Square Royal shield on cross fleury.
Reverse inscription: [CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO] (I reign under the auspice of Christ)

A Post Medieval copper alloy trade weight of Charles I or II (1625-1649 or 1660-1685). The weight is discoidal, its upper side is concave, has a raised rim, and a central circular indentation which is 12.8mm in diameter. The cast buckle is in the form of a bird near complete, retaining the attached copper alloy sheet plate but missing the pin (with a length of 41.9mm and a weight of 4.6g). Stone spindle whorl of uncertain date, Roman to early Post Medieval, c. 100 - 1700
The sub- circular spindle-whorl is made from coarse-grained sandstone and is of near rectangular section with slightly convex faces, with a thickness of 9.5mm. The whorl has a maximum diameter of 28.6mm and weighs 12.6g. The central perforation has a consistent profile and has a diameter of 6.5mm.
It has been suggested that the weight of a spindle whorl is demonstrative of the thickness of yarn produced, with lighter spindle whorls (3 - 5 grams) being used for spinning cotton and the heavier …

A gold finger ring of the 1740s (As per Dr Mark Redknap). Inscription within reads “God for me apointed thee”. Makers mark SLR in gothic script to left of inscription. Band is plano-convex in section, with no decoration on external surface. The internal diameter is 18.4mm. Some damage to edge of ring. The inscription suggests that this ring was a posy ring- a ring exchanged as lover's gift.

An incomplete lead cloth alnage seal of Post Medieval date (Likely 16th or 17th century). One side bears a central design of crown over chained portcullis as is standard with alnage seals. An inscription in Lombardic capitals runs clockwise around edge from a fleur-de-lys initial mark, but only the final five characters are visible, giving the possible inscription: …RERGR. The reverse of the seal bears an integral rivet. Alnage seals typically had two discs and were used to seal cloth as proof of tax paid.

A complete copper alloy spur alloy spur rowel of Medieval or Post Medieval date (c. AD 1200-1800). The object is star-shaped with five points, which are flattened oval in section. The faces of the rowel are flattened and undecorated. The centre is perforated, and the corroded remnant of an iron axis bar is still present within the perforation. The points are evenly spaced and of consistent length (c.11mm). The rowel is missing its original surface, and is now covered with a brown patina and patches of iron and copper corrosion.

The mount is near-complete, slightly damaged, missing part of the attachment end and is distorted with a perpendicular bend (with a distorted length of 45.0mm, a straightened length of approximately 55mm and a weight of 8.3g). Cast lead-alloy whistle in the shape of a pipe bowl, probably late 19th century in date. The pipe bowl is similar to clay pipe examples and is decorated with moulded decoration consisting of joined semicircles and small raised knops. The base of the bowl ends in a pointed spike. Casting flashes are prominent on both sides. Iron corrosion is evident on the rim, suggesting an iron collar. The beginning of the stem is intact, and it is unclear if the stem was also made of a lead alloy, ceramic or other material.

Cast copper alloy rowel spur. The neck of the spur is oval in cross-section and starts horizontally straight but tapers towards its downwardly bent rowel box.
