An incomplete tang / long barb from a late Neolithic oblique (British oblique) flint arrowhead. This arrowhead has been knapped from a pale mid grey coloured piece of flint. It is broadly rectangular in plan and lentoid in cross section. The head of the arrowhead is lost through a modern break. The external long edge of the tang has been worked and shaped on only the dorsal face. The retouch applied is best described as scaled, short and semi-abrupt. A late Neolithic arrowhead probably of oblique or hollow-based type. There is bifacial invasive retouch down the left lateral edge (when held with dorsal side facing). The base appears to have been slightly hollowed with retouch to form very slight barbs. Some cortex remains on the dorsal surface. The flint is pale to dark grey with the cortex a sandy colour. Leaf shaped flint arrowhead (projectile point) of probable early Neolithic date (3000-2500 BC). The arrowhead is ‘kite-shaped’ in that it is broadly triangular in plan with graduated expanding edges from a pointed tip to a relatively flat – inturned base. In cross section the arrowhead is broadly lentoid. The arrowhead has been formed from a broad relatively thin blade, and the upper (dorsal) face has a series of longitudinal blade scars present suggesting that the blade had been removed from a relatively well worked core. Leaf shaped flint arrowhead of probable Middle Neolithic to Early Bronze Age date (2900 - 2150 BC). The arrowhead is sub-oval (tear-drop shaped) in plan and lentoid in cross section. It has been knapped from a light-mid grey translucent flint with a series of brown flecks within its matrix. It measures 37.3mm length, 16.9mm width, and is 5.3mm thick. It weighs 2.71 grams.
