The flakes are all struck on poor quality flint which varies in coarseness and colour, all being glacial or riverine derived, some possibly being chert rather than flint. Four pieces / flakes of tertiary debitage which have been deliberately burnt and used as 'pot boilers' dating from the later Mesolithic and Neolithic periods (4500-2100 BC). The flakes are not well preserved. All the flakes have irregular 'crazed' surfaces which are slightly translucent. The cause of this is most likely to be direct heat and rapid cooling. Large irregular oval piece of flint / nodule. There seems to be very little evidence of flaking or retouch present on either of the faces. Any facets present seem to be as a result of plough roll or frost action. This flint is recorded due to the exceptional size of the piece and the presence of other worked flints in the area. It is possible that this piece within the assemblage represents a reserve of flint for tool making; this is especially interesting as flint of this size is rare in the Marches. Measures: 130.2mm length, 77.3mm width, is 57.5mm thick and weighs 740 grams.

A tranchet chisel struck on a tertiary flake of mid brownish grey coloured flint. The artefact is very regular and well made it is likely to be of prehistoric date: Neolithic - Bronze Age (3500-1800 BC). A direct parallel for such a specialist tool has not been found. In plan the flake is sub-triangular and the ventral face has possibly been retouched with what seem to be even regular steep angled removals- other edges have what looks to be abrupt retouch although given the condition of the flake it is possible that some of this is abrasion through plough roll. Prehistoric flint knife, probably of Neolithic date The knife is of sub-triangular form and is incomplete, missing part of the retouched edge (with a length of 47.5mm, a width of 36.4mm, a thickness of 10.7mm and a weight of 16.8g). The retouch was confined to one edge and only survives on the distal end, abutting the cortex. The opposite edge may have been deliberately backed. Cortex is present on the distal side and there is a recessed flaw on the ventral surface. The flint has light patination.

An unusually large flint scraper formed on a flake of tertiary debitage (from the third and final phase of tool making) dating from the later Neolithic or Bronze Age period (3500-2100 BC). The scraper is formed from an irregular but broadly oval shaped flake of poor quality flint. The ventral face shows conchoidal ripples and the bulb of percussion from a prepared distal platform. An irregular shaped piece of tertiary debitage / waste flake which has been reworked to form a scraping tool dating from the Neolithic period circa 3000 BC to 2000 BC. The waste flake has evidence of multi-directional working. The dorsal face has numerous flake scar removals and the long edge has long, stepped semi-abrupt retouch. An almost complete unpolished flaked axe of Neolithic date and of Scandinavian type. The object has a convex cutting edge and straight parallel sides which taper to a squared off butt end. The cutting edge measures 64mm in width and is 3mm thick. A large oval flake has been removed from one face just above the cutting edge in recent times and is likely due to plough damage. PAS-RC07 Grid D19 An irregular chunk or chip of tertiary debitage / waste flake of probable Neolithic date ( 4000 - 2500BC). In plan and profile the flake is irregular. There is no evidence of any reworking . The dorsal face has several flake removal scars in multiple directions.The flint is a mid white colour and the flake has been burnt in a fire. It has a crazed surface through heat damage; this form of burnt flint is often called a 'pot-boiler'. The debitage measures 36.47mm in length, 38.88mm width, is 12.04mm thick and weighs 21.28 grams.

The flint is a mid-grey colour with an even surface patina. The debitage measures 20.20mm in length, 13.5mm in width, has a thickness of 3.6mm and weighs 1g.
