Rally ID: 37 Post Medieval: An incomplete cast copper alloy probable window fitting. It consists of a V shaped bracket with a single piece set within the hinge. The rivet consists of a piece of rolled copper sheeting. The stem is triangular and slightly twisted. The stem is rectangular in cross section at the junction. A cast lead alloy fitting - possibly a window catch or latch of unknown date - most probably post medieval or modern 1650-1850. The fitting is incomplete it is broadly rectangular in plan and C shaped in cross section. It tapers from one edge to the other. The upper surface has a crude rectangular hole cut through it. The reverse is damaged by the edges being forced together to form a hollow rod. From the style an early modern date is best preferred - probably 1650-1750. Report on post-medieval silver whistle from Near Hereford, Herefordshire Fragmentary silver whistle made from silver sheet, broken and flattened at one end. The mouthpiece intact, shaped for blowing, and slit relatively undamaged. Remains of illegible maker's mark just above slit. Raised twisted rib decoration on the body of the whistle and border with stamped flower-heads between incised lines. A cast lead alloy (possibly pewter) fragment from a whistle of post medieval or early modern date (1650 – 1900 although probably 19th century). The fragment consists of the lower part of the cylindrical body of the whistle and the perforated knop shaped terminal. Although crushed in cross section the whistle would have originally been oval. The outer surface is decorated with a series of cast circumferential bands which enclose the lower and end parts of the whistle. Cast lead-alloy whistle in the shape of a pipe bowl, probably late 19th century in date. The pipe bowl is similar to clay pipe examples and is decorated with moulded decoration consisting of joined semicircles and small raised knops. The base of the bowl ends in a pointed spike. Casting flashes are prominent on both sides. Iron corrosion is evident on the rim, suggesting an iron collar. A post-medieval lead alloy whistle, of a type described as a 'police whistle'. The whistle is circular in cross section (14.21mm in diameter). The mouth of the whistle, which is an open ring (10.7mm in diameter), tapers upwards towards a collar, and from there the main body of the whistle (35.19mm in length, including the collars) joins another collar, tapering away to a ring at the top. Incomplete whetstone of probable Early Medieval or Medieval date (c.800 – 1400). The whetstone is formed from a very fine sedimentary mica rich sandstone or siltstone and bedding planes are clearly visible in the profile. The whetstone is broadly sub-rectangular in plane with slightly tapering sides, and is also sub-rectangular in cross section. The edges are slightly bevelled. A nearly complete hone or whetstone of undetermined date, probably Medieval or later but an earlier date should not be ruled out. The stone is angular, with five irregularly arranged facetted, flat edges. The stone is formed from a grey, coarse grained grit/sandstone. The side surfaces are coloured surface possibly due to burial conditions or being heated in a fire. The surfaces have fine scratches consistent with metal sharpening. One end has been abraded in the plough soil. The stone is 66mm long and 24mm wide, and 22mm high, it weighs 48.4g

A worked stone hub probably from a toy wheel, probably of Post Medieval to Modern dating (16th to 19th Centuries AD). The hub is sub circular in plan, and sub rectangular in cross section. It has been made from a fine grained mica rich sandstone. It has a central drilled perforation (hole) through the centre of the object, with an internal diameter of 6.19mm.
