A copper alloy post medieval shoe or knee buckle, with a drilled frame for a separate spindle dating to circa AD 1690-1720.  The brooch is broadly rectangular with rounded edges. A complete cast copper alloy end-looped cosmetic pestle of early Roman date (c. AD 50-200). The integrally cast pestle has a bird-headed loop at one end, measuring 12.8mm in diameter and 3.4mm wide, with the loop having a faceted oval cross section c. 3.4-4.0mm thick. The loop curves back on itself to attach to the underside of the pestle terminating in a recurved, flared lip 4.7mm wide (representing a bird’s beak).
