A large highly decorated near complete lid most probably from a cistern of post medieval date 1650-1850. The fragment is broken into four large parts and was originally identified as a potential Roman mortaria fragment. Rim sherd of a thick walled earthen ware vessel of probable late medieval date (1350-1500). This sherd is relatively large and thick. It probably comes from the neck of a large storage jar or possibly a jug / flagon. The fabric is relatively soft with a number of angular and sub-angular quartz, grit, iron stone and broken burnt pottery inclusions. The fabric colour is two-tone, the outer a mid orange oxidised and the inner (core) a mid grey. An incomplete fragment from the handle of a Roman Severn Valley ware tankard. It is sub-rectangular in cross section, being 11.05 mm thick. The back is flat but the front has has a ribs running along its complete width. The handle curves outward along its length, it is also is slanted, being a rhombus in plan that measures 33.11mm high by 25.24mm wide. The fabric is a rich orange colour with frequent black stone / grit, sparse mid-brown coloured stone and sparse white quartz, the fabric is also mica rich and relatively soft. The sherd weighs 8.9 g.
