Three pieces of tertiary debitage from flint knapping - most probably of late Mesolithic or Neolithic date. All three pieces are crested and knapped in one direction. There is no sign of retouch. The dorsal surface which has three vertical scars removed, and the ventral surface has a bulb of percussion with faint conchoidal scars. The flake is knapped from flint which is a mottled mid grey and have the start of a patina. It measures 24.31mm long, 30.75mm wide, 6.84mm thick and weighing 5.32g. The flake probably dates to the Neolithic or early Bronze Age periods, c. 4000 to 1000BC.

It measures 25.74mm long, 9.83mm wide, 3.79mm thick and weighing 0.95g. The blade probably dates to the Mesolithic to Neolithic periods, c. 7000 to 2350BC.

The dorsal surface has three vertical scars and the ventral surface has traces of conchoidal ripples. The proximal end is missing, but the patina which covers the surface also covers the break. One on lateral edge there is a small portion of damage rather than re-touch revealing a dark grey flint. It measures 31.88mm long, 14.11mm wide, 3.39mm thick and weighing 2.17g. The blade probably dates to the Mesolithic to Neolithic periods, c. 7000 to 2350BC.

The ventral surface has a large bulb or percussion and slight conchoidal ripples. The dorsal surface has a negative scar. The distal end has a small curved notch which has been formed by re-touch. The flake measures 18.66mm long, 23.56mm wide, 6.25mm thick and weighs 2.33g. Retouched flakes are difficult to date as they are present throughout prehistory. Thus, a wide date range for this piece is suggested.

Prehistoric flint knife, probably of Neolithic date The knife is of sub-triangular form and is incomplete, missing part of the retouched edge (with a length of 47.5mm, a width of 36.4mm, a thickness of 10.7mm and a weight of 16.8g). The retouch was confined to one edge and only survives on the distal end, abutting the cortex. The opposite edge may have been deliberately backed. Cortex is present on the distal side and there is a recessed flaw on the ventral surface. The flint has light patination.

A large fragment from a knapped, ground and polished stone axehead of later Neolithic date (2900-2100 BC). The axe is knapped from a dark grey black volcanic tuff. This rock type is formed from compressed volcanic ash and has a fine grained composition; there are no signs of inclusions within the exposed fresh surface, but the axe is very heavy for its size possibly suggesting large iron content. A complete Late Neolithic waste flake (tertiary debitage). The flake is sub-triangular in shape and has a twisted, flat cross-section. There is no retouch. The ventral face has a percussion scar and a large striking platform. It is wideset at the stiking platform and tapers quickly to a thin body. The flint is a translucent off white, with an internal light grey patch, indicating this is a river flint. It is 27mm long, 18mm wide and 5mm thick at platform. It weighs 1.4g.

A complete Late Neolithic flake rewoked as a side scraper. The flake has an irregular, sub-oval, shape. Its cross-section is triangular, with the apex being the prominent dorsal ridge. The ventral face has two concentric ripples. The dorsal face has a prominent, central ridge running its full length. On the left hand side of the dorsal face there is a continuous length of retouch to provide a sharp edge. There is a section of chalk cortex indicating this is a flint imported into the area.
