Roman silver-plated contemporary copy of a denarius of Titus (AD 79-81), dating to c. AD 80-1 (Reece Period 4). Prototype Mint of Rome. RIC II.1, p. 206, cf. no. 112. The obverse of the coin has been slashed to reveal the base-metal core and the reverse of the coin has discolouration showing the base metal core.
Obverse: IMP TITVS CAES VESPASIAN P M; Laureate head right
Reverse: [TR P IX IMP XV COS VIII P P]; Dolphin coiled around anchor
The coin measures: 17.75mm in length, 18.55mm in width, 1.91mm thick and weighs 2.7 grams.

Copper alloy dupondius or As of Vespasian, AD72. The obverse shows the Emperor facing right, with laurate crown, and reads, IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG COS IIII. The reverse shows Pax standing facing left, holding an olive branch and caduceus in her left hand, and a patera in her right above an altar. The inscription is illegible - probably should read PAX AVG
Diameter 27.2mm, thickness 4.0mm, weight 12.3 grams.
