Fifteen lead alloy musket shots / balls of post medieval 1600-1800 date. The shots are sub-spherical in shape with a relatively even surfaces. Two of the 15 balls have been fired; these have single flattened surfaces - possibly from hitting something hard. All the shot have had the casting seam and spurs from the mould removed. All are a light grey colour with a relatively thick surface patina. An incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill type brooch of Roman date (80-120 AD). The wings are near complete with flat and pierced end caps. The axis bar, spring and pin are lost. The spring was probably formed of copper alloy wire which was held in place by an external cord which is fixed to an eroded rearward facing hook positioned at the midpoint on the upper edge of the reverse.
