The front face of the weight is decorated with a series of three irregular cast pellets arranged in a line. This design is contained within a rectangular raised border. A complete cast lead alloy Medieval spindle whorl. It is biconical in shape, with a circular perforation in the centre. The whorl has a hole in one side due to a casting flaw. One end of the piercing has a rounded lip. There is no descernable decoration. The spindle is light grey in colour. The spindle is 24.8mm in diameter, and 14.0mm high. The piercing is 9.4mm in diameter at the plain end and 10.0mm at the lipped end. The whorl weighs 24.6g.
