The front face of the weight is decorated with a series of three irregular cast pellets arranged in a line. This design is contained within a rectangular raised border. The reverse is decorated with a series of three punched concentric ovals. Both faces are relatively flat and the edges are beveled on both faces. The sides are irregular and taper slightly from the base. The weight is undecorated, although there are a number of scratches present on all surfaces. These are most likely to have been caused by movement in the ploughsoil. The weight is a mid grey colour with a relatively even patina that covers all surfaces. It is possible that the weight may have been burnt at one point. A direct parallel for this weight has not been found. …
